Why should you click on the link and check out her blog? Because she is sweet. And kind. And nice. She tells cute stories about everyday life and the people she meets. She throws in some pictures that catch something of the spirit of America. And she does some political commentary that is very in line with how I feel. But the main thing is that you can feel her warmth and honesty in every word she writes. So check it out.

LOL I love all those design shows and house shows on HGTV. It’s the only thing I miss since giving up cable for Roku.

Me too, HGTV junkie. Do you like your Roku? We have been wanting to change because we tire of the extortion. Was the technical transition difficult? I watched the tutorial, it seemed easy enough.
Now you guys are talking about stuff I don’t understand and I am getting jealous.
I was afraid this would happen. There is a Roku Revelation out there where you can watch TV for the cost of a little Roku box $100, no more monthly cable bill, things stream from the internet and you watch them when you want to. You lose local programming and PBS but I think you can buy an antennae for that.

Yeah, it’s easy, except you still have to have Netflix and/or Amazon Prime. The one frustrating thing, which is also a feature, is that instead of channel surfing you have to deliberately pick whatever you watch. And there is precious little in the way of home improvement or design on any channel.
But $7.99 a month beats $75 a month!

It’s not the only one. Roku is nice and I like it, but if you can find one that does the same thing but also isn’t fighting with YouTube, that might work better. Not Apple TV, though. That sux.

Two can play at this game! My wife and I tried to start watching Downton Abbey and our Netflix keeps cutting out and takes like three minutes to reload each time. And it getsw worse towards the end of each episode. We rebooted… checked connection… etc… well, she did, I didn’t. Help me Mr. Wizard.
That’s PBS, and it’s new as far as I know. You just need to switch to antenna and pick up a local PBS channel.
We are trying to watch it from the beginning. We get the new ones.
